Bioactuated™ begins with the whole selected botanical matrix — then uses botanical-specific biocatalysis to selectively open its structure, improve access to native constituents and preserve the wider complexity of the plant.

Botanical formulation has traditionally forced a choice between the broad native matrix of the whole botanical and the concentration of a standardised extract.

Bioactuated™ creates a new formulation architecture between those two established approaches.

We begin with qualified whole botanical material or a selected whole plant part. Through controlled multi-state biocatalysis, we restructure the plant matrix to increase access to native constituents without making extraction the objective. The result is intended to preserve more of the botanical’s wider phytochemical context while making that matrix more accessible for modern formulation.

Traditional extraction is designed to concentrate selected fractions of a botanical. Starting plant material is extracted, filtered and concentrated, with a substantial proportion of the original plant mass intentionally removed as spent biomass or excluded from the final extract.

Bioactuated™ begins with a different objective. We restructure the selected whole botanical matrix and retain the botanical material as the finished ingredient rather than using extraction as the endpoint.

This means Bioactuated™ is not competing with standardised extracts on concentration alone. It is designed to offer formulators something different: the wider botanical matrix + characterised native chemistry + improved matrix accessibility + compact formulation potential.

The value is not only what is present. It is what remains connected.

Plants do not build nutrition and phytochemistry as isolated ingredient lists. Their compounds exist within wider matrices of co-factors, fibres, nutrients and associated phytochemicals.

Bioactuated™ does not need to replace the ingredients formulators already trust. It can sit beside them.

A company can retain the standardised extract, nutrient or established active already built into its formula — and add Bioactuated™ as a compact whole-matrix botanical companion, bringing a broader characterised botanical matrix and Bioactuated™ science into the finished formulation. This gives the finished formulation another layer:

Core Botanical and Whole-Matrix Companion describe how Bioactuated™ can be used within a formulation. They do not prescribe a finished product’s regulatory category or claim architecture. Important: Bioactuated™ inclusion targets are development and commercial formulation targets. They are not automatically equivalent to the clinical dose of a standardised extract and must not be presented that way unless comparative data supports the equivalence.

Bioactuated™ Moringa is being developed to do more than contribute its own nutrient and phytochemical matrix.

Its unusually broad spectrum of naturally co-existing nutrients, amino acids and bioactive phytocompounds creates the potential for Bioactuated™ Moringa to function as a whole-matrix synergy layer within the wider formulation — interacting with the nutritional and botanical actives around it rather than behaving as an isolated ingredient.

Whole-Matrix Companion

Bioactuated™ Moringa can be incorporated alongside established botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals and other nutritional actives without requiring the existing formulation architecture to be replaced.

The objective is to introduce four interconnected layers:

Bioactuated™ is a platform, but each botanical is structurally different.

A root, leaf, fruit or whole herb can differ materially in its proportions and organisation of cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin, lignin, starch, soluble sugars, proteins and other structural components. The location and chemical form of native bioactives also varies from plant to plant and from one plant part to another.

For that reason, Nutrition Lab Sciences does not apply a single fixed enzyme treatment to every ingredient. Each Bioactuated™ botanical progresses through its own development program to establish a reproducible, ingredient-specific processing SOP.

The objective is selective: open enough of the matrix to improve soluble-phase accessibility while preserving the wider native architecture and chemistry we are seeking to retain.

Soluble protein content after simulated digestion was 35.01 mg/g versus 21.85 mg/g. These findings relate to the specific test material and stated in-vitro conditions and do not independently establish human absorption, systemic exposure, bioavailability or clinical efficacy.

Whole-Matrix Synergy research. Bioactuated™ Moringa is being developed as a formulation-level synergy layer when used alongside established botanical extracts, nutrients and other actives. What is Bioactuated™?

Bioactuated™ is Nutrition Lab Sciences’ global platform for developing proprietary whole-matrix botanical ingredients using our proprietary Multi-State Biocatalytic Process and botanical-specific development programs.

The objective is to selectively open the plant matrix, improve access to native botanical constituents and preserve more of the wider phytochemical complexity of the selected botanical for modern formulation.

How is Bioactuated™ different from a standardised extract?

A standardised extract is generally designed to concentrate selected fractions or marker compounds from a botanical.

Bioactuated™ begins with the selected whole botanical matrix and uses controlled biocatalysis to restructure that matrix rather than making extraction the endpoint.

The two approaches can therefore serve different formulation purposes.

Is Bioactuated™ intended to replace standardised extracts?

Not necessarily.

Bioactuated™ can be used as a Core Botanical where the formulation, ingredient data and product architecture support that role, or as a Whole-Matrix Companion alongside an established standardised extract, nutrient or active.

A Whole-Matrix Companion formulation retains an existing standardised extract, nutrient or active and adds Bioactuated™ at a compact inclusion level.

The objective is to introduce the wider botanical matrix, Bioactuated™ technology and an additional branded-ingredient layer without requiring the formulator to rebuild the entire product.

What does “Whole-Matrix Synergy” mean?

Whole-Matrix Synergy is Nutrition Lab Sciences’ research and formulation framework for using Bioactuated™ Moringa as more than an isolated ingredient within a finished product.

Moringa contains a broad native matrix of nutrients and multiple phytochemical families. Combined with the increased matrix accessibility created through the Bioactuated™ process, this creates the potential for Bioactuated™ Moringa to act as a formulation-level synergy layer alongside established botanical extracts, nutrients and other actives.
